The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Board and provides strategic and operational oversight to the national office. As the chief staff officer, the CEO fosters a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that is committed to equity, inclusion, and diversity. The CEO leads BIC’s government relations efforts and, as a trusted and engaged partner, nurtures strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners across Canada. With a focus on sound business practices and fundamentals, the CEO has experience coaching and mentoring startup companies, and understands the challenges that entrepreneurs encounter when incubating, launching, and growing early-stage companies.

As the ideal candidate, you are a respected and trusted leader with exceptional interpersonal and relationship skills. You are a skilled negotiator, facilitator, and networker, constantly seeking to maximize opportunities for BIC. As a skilled executive, you champion innovation, process improvement, good governance, sound financial stewardship, and service and performance excellence. You have the character, attitude, and personal integrity to represent BIC to a broad range of audiences. Your experience in the ecosystem of the sustainable chemistry industries (bioeconomy, sustainable processes, circular economy, etc.) or a closely analogous industry would be an asset, as would your advanced degree in business, science, or engineering. Your ability to communicate effectively in English and French is a desired asset.

The Marketing and Communication Manager plays an exciting and innovative role that is instrumental in the development, coordination, and delivery of marketing and communications initiatives at SLEP to reach local, national, and global audiences. The objectives of the role are to market the local economy by raising awareness and attracting new investment, companies, and residents to Lambton County.
