Bioindustrial Innovation Canada Welcomes Zaki Haider

NEWS RELEASE SARNIA, ONTARIO - Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC) is a nationally focused not-for-profit business accelerator that provides critical strategic investment, advice and services to business developers of clean, green and sustainable technologies. In 2015, BIC established the Centre for Commercialization of Sustainable Chemistry Innovation (COMM SCI) initiative, which acts as a hub for the commercialization of sustainable chemistry and bio-based innovation.


With a recent contribution from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), BIC has developed the Ontario Bioindustrial Innovation Network (OBIN). OBIN will continue to support the growth of the Hybrid Chemistry Cluster in Sarnia-Lambton and to enable to launch a new Sustainable Chemistry Cluster in the Eastern Ontario St. Lawrence Corridor region centred around Brockville and Maitland.


To support BIC’s current projects BIC welcomes Zaki Haider as a Project Engineer.


Zaki will be working on one of BIC’s COMM SCI projects, Imtex Membranes Corporation out of Mississauga. He will be working with Imtex as they work to build a demonstration plant in Sarnia-Lambton.


Zaki holds a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from NED University and an MBA from Institute of Business Management, Pakistan. He has nearly ten years of experience working in energy, oil and gas sector. He has worked on various projects ranging from concept studies, front-end engineering design (FEED) and detail engineering. He was part of the team that performed detail engineering, commissioning and start-up of 300 MMCFD gas processing plant in Pakistan. He has also worked at Pakistan’s largest fully integrated energy company looking after new projects and business diversification.
